Caltrans Experience

The principals of B&R have 30 plus years of experience in the industry and a majority of that experience was earned delivering major projects in Districts 7, 8, & 9 as state employees, and the roles filled in these projects included Structure Representative, Resident Engineer, Construction Engineer, and Construction Manager. They have participated in the successful delivery of a long list of projects including new interchanges, interchange modifications, grade separations, new or replacement structures, bridges, freeway/highway widenings and rehabilitations, seismic retrofits, retaining and sound walls, and drainage structures. The following are a few examples.

I-15 Pavement Rehabilitation – Ontario, California

This project was located on I-15 from State Route 60 in Riverside County to 7th Street in Ontario, California. The project included continuous concrete lane replacement, random slab replacement, replacement of existing PCC lane with “Super-Slab” precast pavement. The “Super-Slab” precast pavement was a new technology used for the firt time in District on this project.

State Route 215 Improvements, Segment 3 – San Bernardino, California

This project included the construction of one mixed flow lane and one HOV lane in each direction. It also included the construction of auxiliary lanes, braided ramps, and other operational improvements. The major structure work consisted of new approach slabs at the Orange Show Rd. OC, widening of Warm Creek Bridge, widening of Lytle Creek Bridge, replacement of the Mill Street UC, and replacement of the Inland Center Drive OC. The original contract amount was approximately $81.2 M.

Colorado River Bridge Replacement – Parker, Arizona

The Colorado River Bridge replacement project was a joint project between Caltrans and the Arizona Department of Transportation to replace the existing 2 lane bridge constructed in 1937 with a 4 lane CIP/PS Box Girder Bridge. The original contract amount was approximately $29.6 M.
